Explorations Into Liminality
“and there came an arm and a hand above the water and met it and caught it, and so shook it thrice and brandished it, and then vanished away the hand with the sword in the water.”

Waves of Words for Wednesday

MERMAID

Leagues, leagues over the sea I sail
Couched on a wallowing dolphin's tail.

The sky is on fire, the waves a-sheen,
I dabble my foot in the billows green.

In a sea-weed hat on the rocks I sit,
where tern and sea-mew glide and beat,
and where dark shadows the cormorants meet.

In caverns cool when the tide's a wash,
I sound my conch to the watery splash.

From out their grottos at evenings beam,
the mermaids swim with locks agleam.

Hello there chicken. They look like tiny rose petals! are they? So lovely. I have my hat on my mannequin at the top of the stairs so as it can be seen coming in to the house. I just love it. It's the best item that I've purchased in a LONG time. Your hats are so professionally made and the fabrics are of the best quality. Anyway my friend Happy New Year to You and may all your hopes and dreams become a reality in 2010

love

You made me feel like I was awash on the beach instead of freezing (in FL!). I love my snakeskin pendant. =)

Hauntingly beautiful and I adore both of your sea faring creations!
One of my wishes this year is for one of your gorgeous hats to find permanent residence in my studio - nice to have dreams to work towards.
